About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Community Health Wellbeing and Safety, the Strategic Housing Policy Officer will lead efforts to develop a strategic housing framework for affordable housing for Wyndham residents.
You will deliver
- Leadership in the development of a strategic framework for the provision of affordable housing
- Support a coordinated strategic housing system response through engagement and collaboration with state and local government, housing providers, developers and other key stakeholders
- Specialist advice to inform the future development and delivery of affordable housing to the area
- The development and implementation of effective planning, research, and evaluation processes for housing
- Input into policy formation and development in consultation with relevant stakeholders
You will bring
- Strong hands-on experience in a relevant field or role and involvement with local government
- Qualification in public or social policy, strategic planning, or similar will be highly regarded
- Working knowledge of the affordable housing and Victorian planning sectors
- Demonstrable skills in project management including research and stakeholder consultation
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrable success in building strategic relationships
- A positive, curious and flexible attitude
